Through Covered California, the major carriers include Blue Shield of California, Anthem Blue Cross, Kaiser Permanente, Health Net, and Molina Healthcare, plus Allstate Health Solutions for under-65 private options. Plan availability varies by county, and we help you sort through what is offered where you live.

Coverage and enrollment in California

Marketplace: California uses Covered California, the state-run Marketplace. We check whether you qualify for a premium subsidy before anything else.

Medicaid: California expanded Medicaid (Medi-Cal) and offers some of the broadest coverage in the country.

Enrollment timing: California runs its own Marketplace, Covered California, which can have its own enrollment dates. California also offers a guaranteed-issue window for Medicare Supplement, so timing matters. We will walk you through it.
